Biography

Kenny Johnson is an American actor whose celebrated range, depth and sincerity has only been magnified starring opposite Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe award-winners and nominees, such as Anthony Hopkins, Vera Farmiga, Holly Hunter, Juliette Lewis, Glenn Close, Forest Whitaker, Maria Bello and Michael Chiklis, among others. Himself a Peabody and Golden Globe award-winner as part of the cast of The Shield, Johnson can be seen in a barrage of critically acclaimed series, from Dexter to Bates Motel, and from Sons Of Anarchy to Secrets And Lies, airing Sunday nights on ABC. His portrayal as Detective Curtis ‘Lem’ Lemanski on The Shield – the Strike Team member with a conscience – won him a substantial fan base struck by his character’s strong, but sensitive portrayal, ultimately meeting his end in a shocking, tragic story line. Fortunately for Johnson, his own future only brightened, now in consistently in high demand as an actor who embraces his characters, protects them and fights with them to further not only their stories, but the stories of his acting team around him.
